Amazing gardens surround this traditional 2 bedroom (queen, twins) 2 bath Carmel Cottage located midway between Carmel City Beach and Carmel River Beach.  Spacious patio area and beautifully maintained gardens greet you as you approach the front door. Enter into a classic old charm cabin living room with high beam ceilings, wood burning fireplace, flat screen TV, plenty of seating and windows looking out to the front and back gardens. Dining area is off the living room with wood table seating six, and opens to kitchen (Wedgewood gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator and door opening to side patio and gardens).  Hallway from dining area leads to the primary bedroom with a queen bed and bath off the hall with a shower stall. Guest bedroom off the living room has two twins, and en suite bath with tub/shower. There is a second sleeping area off this room with 2 additional twin beds.  Washer/dryer, Wi-Fi and parking for 2 cars in the driveway.   We have been visiting Carmel almost annually for the past 25 years or so and have rented several homes through San Carlos Agency. This was our first stay at the Valley View Cottage and it has quickly become our favorite. It is wonderfully set up for two couples as the sleeping arrangements allow for privacy when necessary. It's openness to the wonderful outdoor gardens makes it also a great accommodation to spend time together, sipping wine and just relaxing. Of course, the great Fall Carmel weather didn't hurt a bit. The home also comes with a rustic charm with the centerpiece being a vintage stove and oven that still work well. Overall, our experience at this property was wonderful with easy walks to the beach or a more strenuous one to town. We highly recommend anyone looking for a quiet stay in beautiful surroundings.

  Had a great time in one of our favorite places, Carmel By the Sea. The home was in an ideal location for us between the 2 beaches and a short stroll to the ocean. The gardens are very nice and although the home is a bit dated it served our needs.

  We love staying at this cottage. The garden is gorgeous and with Carla’s ( the gardener) care, it remains a haven during any season. The cottage is cozy but not updated, especially the bathrooms...we appreciate the charm. Thank you for being equipped with lanterns, etc. since we experienced power outages during our stay. The location is ideal.

  This was the second time we stayed at Valley View. We first stayed for the month of December 2021 so we were able to enjoy the holidays at the house. What a perfect place to do so!
  The house has so much history and warmth. It feels like you are visiting old family friends. The house has plenty of space, the
  beds are all comfortable, and while the kitchen and bathrooms are older, they really provide everything you need, and everything worked well. The stone fire place is amazing.
  The outside area is huge and beautifully landscaped, and It’s an oasis unto itself. It really feels like you are far far away even though you are right in Carmel. And the best part is you are only 3 blocks away from the ocean, and can hear it clearly from the house.
  We would definitely stay here again !

  My wife and I spent a month in Carmel and rented STEWE from San Carlos Agency. The location and grounds are the best. It is easy access to the ocean and downtown Carmel. We really enjoyed working with San Carlos Agency and would recommend anyone looking for a vacation rental to call Lori Pfeiffer. Please note the house is a cottage and is neither large or modern. The owner has a lot of amenities on site and the extra bedroom was very handy. We would recommend this rental to everyone looking to visit Carmel.
