Big Little Lies (MINKG)

One of the homes featured in HBO's "Big Little Lies" -- this Carmel Highland's home is SIMPLY AMAZING! This 3 bedroom (king, queen and queen), 4 ½ bath home is located right on the rocks overlooking the Pacific Ocean with nearly 180 degree of white water views. The clean simple lines and spacious open floor plan are highlighted by tastefully done retro furnishings and décor.  A private deck with plenty of seating leads to the front door and entrance. The entire downstairs area flows from one living space to another.  Entry opens to living room with plenty of seating, wood burning fireplace, large flat screen television mounted on the wall next to the fireplace, baby grand piano, and period pieces of art. The west side of this room features a wall of glass and sliding glass doors, along with a second seating area designed to take full advantage of the ocean views. Dining area table and chairs are a retro design, very comfortable, and seat 8.  Kitchen opens to the dining area with a huge center island, electric cook top and wall oven, refrigerator, amazing amount of storage and work space, and provides access to a full formal butler’s pantry / bar area which opens over a service bar to the dining area.  Another seating area is off the dining area and kitchen which also enjoys a wood burning fireplace. Off this area are two guest bedrooms both with a queen bed and en suite bath.  Deck runs along length of home on the ocean side with multiple seating areas, propane barbecue and heater, and views that just never quit. Steps from the deck lead down to a relaxed coastal garden area and a little trail to a promontory with a bench – perfect to enjoy the view or a glass of wine at sunset. Upstairs from the entry is the owner's bedroom with king bed, plenty of closets, en suite his and her bathroom, seating area facing the windows and ocean views, and a door leading to the upstairs deck. The gated driveway provides plenty of parking along with a three car garage. Hot tub is located on the patio off the guest bedroom wing of the house. Wi-Fi.  7 NIGHT STAY REQUIREMENT. NO SMOKING.

  The house, the deck, the kitchen set the scene for a wonderful family Thanksgiving week. We had another house as well but MinkG was the center from sunset until dessert every evening. The weather was especially good this year, so the deck and fire pit were places for great conversations before and after dinner. After dinner, the dining table became the space for all sorts of games from Trivial Pursuit to Bananagrams. We had a great time.

  We have been going to Carmel/Pebble Beach for 25 plus years. Stayed at Pebble, Spanish Bay and a bunch of houses. Big Little Lies is now at the top of the Carmel list. The views are beyond words and the house is to die for. Perfectly furnished with anything a guest could ask for besides food and drinks. It's now been 2 weeks ago and I catch myself stopping everyday wondering what the Ocean looks like at that moment from the decks of Big Little Lies!!!!!!! I guarantee you can't go wrong here.
